Removing wind noise for a live recording

G'day, Does anyone out there have some ideas for removing unwanted wind noise from a live recording that I did outside. I was using a pair of NT5's and at times the wind noise is quiet distracting. Is there a plugin that can help to remove unwanted noise such as this. Any help would be great !!

CEDAR. You'll need to go to a studio that either has the unit or the TDM sytem add-in. It aint cheap. But it's remarkable. Best regards, Haigbabe

You can use a low cut filter. This way the low frequencies of the wind noise may disappear, but remind that the wanted signal will lose those frequencies too. It could work with vox, guit, overheads aso, but not with bass, BD. You can find the filter in one of the Digirack EQs (1 Band/4Band)

I have successfully used Sound Forge and it's noise reduction plugin. I was at an AES workshop a few years ago where several panelists compared inexpensive NR software against Cedar. The workshop outcome was that nothing can touch Cedar, but that the inexpensive (DirectX)tools can satisfy 80-90% of NR needs. DVDirect has a steal of a bundle right now. Sound Forge 6 with the NR plugin. 62% off MSRP. We bought a copy at work for some "reality" type field audio. Then you can also use Sound Forge as a mastering tool later. Just a thought.
