V40 Gearbox Troubles PLEASE HELP!!!

hi mate you have my sympathies im sorry i dont know anything about the gearbox as i have an auto box and ive never had a manual box to bits on these. i can only sugest you get a price for a gaurenteed used one from or the best hit you get will probs be from these who are really good and ive had a good few things off them and been very satisfied. good luck mate what area are you located ?

is the clip on the linkage rod to the gear lever tight, it might have slipped. paul

thank you for your reply It cant be the linkage because I am unable to select some gears but not others in vairing orders. and I have checked the plastic clip as I understand that this is a flaw on the car. I am supprised that there is no one on this forum that has stripped one of these boxes down. even the volvo dealership seemed to be lacking in knolage about the gear selectors gates, I have found out today that the box is of a Renault Laguna so I will try to find a forum for them and see if they can help. thank you for the links to buy another gearbox but that is not quite the point.there cant be anything majorly wrong with the box as nothing is snapped or out of order, just the selector rod. I will fiddle with the box tomorrow and see if I can sort it myself, it would just have been nice for someone to let me know what the correct assembly sytem or order a stripdown is done with the selector gates.
